Aerojet Rocketdyne Maintenance Mechanic 2 in Camden, Arkansas
Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our facility in Camden, Arkansas.
The Maintenance Mechanic will work under general supervision to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance using manufacturer publications, blueprints, schematics and locally generated instructions. Must be familiar with OSHA and NEC standards. Will be required to follow work procedures, work on facilities and production equipment, as well as perform general maintenance. Must understand and be able to work on all Production and Facility equipment.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
60% - Repair HVAC equipment, general Electrical maintenance, production machinery upkeep/repair/maintenance, general welding, millwright activities or carpentry.
20% - Install new equipment.
10% - Conduct preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, electro-mechanical and mechanical work.
5% - Perform boiler maintenance. Work with, troubleshoot, monitor and repair boilers.
5% - General shop upkeep, cleaning, and/or organizing.
Requires an High School diploma or equivalent preferred 1 year or related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Must be able to obtain a Freon recovery license within two (2) years of employment.
Qualification for respirator and breathing air devices and work on fire/rescue teams.
Completion of hydraulic, pneumatic, basic electricity and welding courses. Must complete these courses within two (2) years of hire or show these classes were previously taken as a condition of employment.
Considerable knowledge and understanding of service and installation processes of industrial equipment.
Must be able to work proficiently from blueprints, drawings, sketches and equipment manual.
Valid state issued Driver's License.
Must be very safety and environmentally conscious.
Ability to be available to work any shift, weekends, holidays and be on call as required.
Continued education in a maintenance discipline and cross training into other disciplines within the department will be required as needed.
Training from a trade school or college.
Strong experience/training in one of the following: Mechanical, HVAC, Boiler, and/or Electrical background. Own required tools/multi-meter to perform normal maintenance duties. State Licenses in any of these fields a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. Work may require the ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift, crane, hoist, man lift, etc.) in a safe manner. While performing the duties of this job , employees may work around variable noise levels or with fume or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, etc. requiring the use of personal protective equipment such as face protection (safety glasses, goggles, face shield), foot protection (i.e. steel toed shoes, rubber boots, etc.), gloves, hard hat, shop coat and hearing protection. Some positions may require Respirator clearance up to and including the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Level A clearance. Work requires the ability to change into or out of personal protective equipment when entering or exiting manufacturing, laboratory, or other areas. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. Work duties may also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer and/or the ability to travel by air or auto. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
