Aerojet Rocketdyne Assembler 3 (Final Assembly Technician 3) in Orlando, Florida


Aerojet Rocketdyne Coleman Aerospace is looking for a Final Assembly Technician for its Orlando, FL location. The Final Assembly Technician will perform soldering, wiring, inspection, electronic and mechanical assembly on electronic boxes, equipment racks and missile sections by utilizing and following existing work instructions to complete assembly tasks on flight hardware.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

The selected candidate will:

Work within established procedures. Recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work area. Evaluate and select solutions from established options.

Work under general supervision with instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments. Resolve routine issues without supervisory guidance/approval.

In addition, the selected candidate will conduct the following:

  • Point-to-point wiring of electrical / mechanical components

  • Integrate sub-assemblies with cabling, and point-to-point wiring.

  • Assembly and wiring of electrical assemblies and components

  • Understand electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings; technical documents

  • Make reliable electrical connections

  • Proficient at stripping/crimping/labeling

  • Produce quality soldering and tinning

  • Skilled use of basic hand tools and related diagnostic equipment

  • High quality of workmanship: neat routing/bundling; clean and consistent results

  • Advanced wiring methods knowledge. Including color coding, proper connection, neatness, wire gauging and sizing.

  • Strong Attention to detail

  • Ensure all work performed is in a quality minded, tidy & accurate manner.

  • Adhere to all Company policies.



Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have at least 1 year of related experience or combination or education and experience.

Strong mechanical aptitude (some mechanical assembly)

Requires a specialized level of knowledge in the final assembly of flight hardware.

Good time management and multi-tasking skill

Must have good oral and written communications skill

Be a team player, working toward exceeding customer expectation

US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.


IPC620 and J-STD-001 certification

Moderate computer skills.

Associate of Science degree in related discipline.
